We delivered a new tightening unit to Finland
24. 9. 2020
At the end of July this year, we delivered a new EZ 650 PRO tightening unit to FORTUM for the Loviisa NPP in Finland. It is not the first device we have delivered to this Finnish nuclear power plant. Previously it has been, for example, inserted rods for VVER 440 control rod drives, spare parts for drives, various types of graphite gaskets and also two tightening units of the previous generation.
The electrically controlled tightening unit EZ 650 PRO is designed for tightening and loosening the joint of the control rod drive and the VVER 440 reactor drive housing. Its design allows performing these operations in the upper unit of the shut-down reactor and in the upper unit maintenance station. The control and the parameter setting take place via the touch screen together with the USB interface enabling importing or exporting the sets of working parameters of the tightening unit and exporting the measured values of tightening torques. The data is stored in the memory of the tightening unit in a format adapted for processing in the form of reports. The reports are then exported in Microsoft Excel format.
Although the implementation of the contract took place mainly during the strictest measures against COVID-19, the delivery date had to be strictly adhered to. Thanks to the professional commitment of all responsible employees, the tightening unit was finally delivered to the customer a few days before the agreed date.
